We apply a final clear coat to safeguard the integrity of the paint. We use ONLY NEW VIRGIN RESIN to craft our chairs. Others may use recycled resin. We continue to crush test every chair we sell to determine how much downward force each chair can handle. Recently, we tested our beautiful ProClear Chiavair Chair. Some people think this chair is not particularly strong. I mean it’s clear, right? We knew we had a tough chair, but even we were surprised by how much weight our ProClear Chiavari Chair could take. Watch the video and you’ll see we applied 1,000 pounds of downward force on the seat and it didn’t flinch. The downward force continues to increase to 2,000 pounds and not a single failure. Finally, at just over 2,100 pounds, you can hear a pop from the back of the seat, but still no catastrophic failure. As the downward force increased to nearly 3,000 pounds, you can hear some more cracking and crackling. What you don’t see is any collapse or catastrophic failure, event at nearly 3,000 pounds.

Our official rating for this chair is 2,000 pounds of static weight capacity. That’s a full ton and more than 2x the payload capability of a half-ton pickup truck. Heck, it’s strong enough to hold a full grown adult manatee. So not only is our ProClear Chiavari incredibly beautiful, but it’s surprisingly strong and rugged.

Everything we do exceeds expectations. Our cushions are made with commercial grade polyester and premium-strength velcro straps.

Our plush foam cushions are thicker than the typical industry standard. Our Velcro cushion straps are wider so they connect to the body of the cushion across a longer area and do not rip away from the cushion body. We use two lines of stitching to connect the straps, further preventing the straps from falling off. Don’t look past our superior cushion details.
