Advanced Metal Painting Process
Others may skimp on certain processes and cut corners and still deliver a shiny product. But within months you'll notice the inferior workmanship as blemishes and even rust begins to appear. At Chivari, we never skip steps or cut corners. Our goal is simple. The highest quality products period. That's why all our metal products go through a 9 step paint adhesion process:- BARE METAL POLISHING Polishing to remove impurities and rust. This is very important. Others may skip this step to save time and labor, but it'll show up when the product begins to show signs of rust.
- DRY PROCESSING After polishing, the bare metal undergoes a drying process to remove moisture, metal's top enemy. Others may simply paint over moist metal. That simply ensures the product will form a rust pocket.
- PRIMING For maximum adhesion, a coat of film is applied to the metal surface as a primer. - This is very important.
- ELECTROSTATIC POWDER SPRAY After the primer has set, we use an electrostatic powder spraying machine to spray powder onto the metal parts. In a high-pressure electrostatic environment, the powder has a negative polarity and is sprayed onto the chair under the force of compressed air. The metal part is grounded to absorb the negative powder. This ensures a thorough and evenly distributed coat of paint across the metal surface.
- FIRST PAINT LAYER The first layer of paint is thinly covered to enhance adhesion, with a thickness of approximately 10-20 μM or Micromolar. (A micromolar refers to a concentration range often used in scientific studies, particularly in chemistry, biology, and biochemistry to describe the range of concentration of a substance in an aqueous solution.)
- SECOND PAINT LAYER The second layer provides a more thorough paint concentration with a thickness of approximately 60-80 μM.
- PAINT BAKING After the coating is completed, the metal components enter the high-temperature curing furnace (374-446 degrees Fahrenheit). The powder begins to melt and level after high-temperature and then enters the constant temperature curing stage. The constant temperature curing time is about 20 minutes.
- CURING REVIEW If the coating is thick, the powder curing time needs to be extended to ensure a smooth and even paint finish.
- QUALITY CONTOL Finally, an inspector will visually review the paint finish to guarantee it meets our quality standard. Any product not meeting or exceeding our discerning quality standard is immediately rejected.
